21. 예수께서 거기서 나가사 두로와 시돈 지방으로 들어가시니
22. 가나안 여자 하나가 그 지경에서 나와서 소리 질러 이르되 주 다윗의 자손이여 나를 불쌍히 여기소서 내 딸이 흉악하게 귀신 들렸나이다 하되
23. 예수는 한 말씀도 대답하지 아니하시니 제자들이 와서 청하여 말하되 그 여자가 우리 뒤에서 소리를 지르오니 그를 보내소서
24. 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 나는 이스라엘 집의 잃어버린 양 외에는 다른 데로 보내심을 받지 아니하였노라 하시니
25. 여자가 와서 예수께 절하며 이르되 주여 저를 도우소서
26. 대답하여 이르시되 자녀의 떡을 취하여 개들에게 던짐이 마땅하지 아니하니라
27. 여자가 이르되 주여 옳소이다마는 개들도 제 주인의 상에서 떨어지는 부스러기를 먹나이다 하니
28. 이에 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 여자여 네 믿음이 크도다 네 소원대로 되리라 하시니 그 때로부터 그의 딸이 나으니라

21. Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
22. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
23. Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24. He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25. The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27. “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28. Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.”And her daughter was healed at that moment.

이방인 여자의 믿음은 자기 자신이 너무나도 낮아지고 아픈 이야기인 것 같습니다. 예수님께서는 이방인 여자에게 개라는 비유를 하시고 구원의 우선순위가 유대인이라고 말씀하시는데 가나안 여인은 본인이 개라는 것을 인정하고 개들은 주인의 식탁에 있는 부스러기를 먹을 수 있다 하니 그 작은 은혜에서도 충분한 만족을 느낄 수 있다는 표현인 것 같습니다.
The Canaanite woman's faith seems like a story where she herself is brought very low, a painful story. Jesus uses the metaphor of a dog toward the gentile woman and says the priority of salvation is the Jews, but the Canaanite woman accepts that she is a dog, and since dogs can eat the crumbs that fall from the master's table, she expresses that even in that small grace she can feel complete satisfaction.

저는 날마다 "하나님의 마음을 더 알고 싶습니다. 매일 매일의 은혜를 주세요"라고 고백하면서 계속해서 더 큰 은혜를 갈망합니다. 그러나 이 가나한 여인은 작은 은혜라고 할지라도 나에게는 매우 과분한고 충분한 은혜이며 예수 그리스도가 나의 주인임을 고백하고 있습니다.
Every day I confess, "I want to know God's heart more, give me daily grace," and keep longing for greater grace. But this Canaanite woman, even calling it small grace, confesses that it is more than enough for her, overflowing grace, and that Jesus Christ is her Master.

저는 예수님이 나의 주인되심이 가장 큰 축복인 것을 마음에 새기길 원합니다. 언제나 내 삶을 주관하시고 평안을 주심에 감사하고 말씀을 묵상하면서 나의 믿음이 얼마나 작은지 알게 되었습니다.
I want to engrave on my heart that Jesus being my Master is the greatest blessing. I'm thankful that He always governs my life and gives me peace, and as I meditate on the Word, I've come to see how small my faith is.

"하나님 내가 예수 그리스도가 나의 주인임을 마음에 새기며 불평보다는 오늘 주신 삶과 행복에 감사하며 살겠습니다."
"God, I will engrave on my heart that Jesus Christ is my Master, and instead of complaining, I will live thankful for the life and happiness You have given me today."
